What a weekend of weather with perfect conditions being ideal for the Tongariro Roll Cast clinic. From my perspective the day went very well with everyone understanding the concept and theory behind the cast before getting the feel for each phase on the lake and then finally putting it all together by the end of the river session. The afternoon session saw a little more fluidity to cast while I think everybody enjoyed and saw the results of understanding the importance of setting everything up correctly and executing the Tongariro Roll Cast well. I will follow up with a comprehensive article with a recap and the details on problems that arise along with how to correct these in trouble shooting. Many thanks to Herb Spannagl for passing on the knowledge and being on hand throughout the day, Simon Pengelly for helping out and Tongariro Lodge for hosting the event.
