Kyle Adams On the Tongariro
Taranaki Hunting & Fishing staff member Kyle Adams reports from a session on the tongariro river yesterday.
Kyle caught his limit off fish in 2-3 hours along with other hook ups that came unstuck. The river was running a little high and had a good bit of colour too. The fish where all taken on the wet line, kyle used a Scott S4 9'0 #6 rod equiped with a Airflo Streamer max 6 fly line which he said was perfect for the job, and fly off choice was a size 6 olive wooly bugger. With the colder weather and extra flows currently the river is holding fish. The fish were in good order with a average weight being 4lbs and fresh fish were dominant.
