A summers day grubbing

A great day yesterday in the sun, willow grubbing with Nick Smith. It always amazes me how skinny the water browns will move into when feasting on grubs. The winner of the day was the wee CDC Willow Grub fished on 4lb sightfree extreme flurocarbon, to ensure we werent torn apart on the many sticks and branches such tight - quarters fly flinging calls for. The secret to grubbing is to drop the fly within the trouts window of vision, so they can lock onto the movement. Nicks casting was up to the job. Great stuff Nick!
