Women's Fly Fishing

Women Fly Fishers are often seen as a separate group, with their own unique needs and concerns. However, the truth is that women anglers are just like any other anglers. They are passionate about the sport, they are skilled and knowledgeable, and they are always looking for ways to improve.
That being said, women are different and women in fly fishing do have different needs.

If you are a woman who loves to fly fish, you don't necessarily need to look for special "women's perspective" content. And when we create separate content and communities for women fly fishing, we are reinforcing the stereotype that women are different from men and that they need special treatment. This is simply not true. Women fly fishers are just like any other anglers, and they should be treated as such.
But...sometimes there are some female specifics that help . Like gear, like colour, like being able to walk into a tackle shop and not have some old salt treat you like you don't know anything. At Manic we acknowledge the difference - and acknowledge the high performance level too.

So go out there and fish! Don't worry about whether you are fishing from a "woman's perspective." Just fish and enjoy the sport. You are just as welcome as any other angler.
This landing page is here to support women fly fishing in learning and improving their skills and to share their passion for the sport with other women.
Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced angler, we have something for you. We offer articles and videos on all aspects of fly fishing, from gear selection to casting techniques to fly selection.
