Want to cast more efficiently in the wind? Here are some quick tips.
Long stroke. Give your self time and space to accelerate and get the line moving. Imagine you’re throwing a ball to the other side of the field.
Straight stroke. If your hand / rod tip doesn’t track in a straight line throughout your casting stroke, you’ll lose a lot of line speed and energy. Ultimately the wind will win.
Acceleration - Start off slow and smooth. Dont punch it. Accelerate smoothly and rapidly from a high backcast to a low, crisp stop.
Dont overthink it. The wind is in your mind. If you worry about it and change from your smooth, efficient stroke, the wind will beat you.
