Casey & Lubin Pfeiffer Chasing Mud Marlin On Fly

The first wave of heat that hits the Murray River in Australia sees the start of our summer carping season. The fish come out from the deep to feed in the surface layer and provide some awesome sight casting opportunities for any keen fly angler. This style of fishing will see your 8wt really put to the test with fish up to 20lb commonly seen within casting distance. My partner Casey and I have been using Airflo’s new Blade rod, which is beautifully crisp to cast and has enough grunt to put the brakes on most hefty mud marlins. This is matched with a Lamson Remix 2 reel and Airflo SuperFlo Universal floating line. Easily one of our favourite warm weather activities!
