Manic Monday - F-Series Season Opener

October in the northern most stronghold of trout on Australiaäó»s east coast means wet wading, short glass rods and dry flies. After buying a 6'6" 3-weight Scott F-Series last year with the soul purpose of casting dries over my favourite New England rainforest stream, I finally got to make the dream a reality for opening day 2020. Here, a good fish pushes 10 inches and the water the very definition of pocket water äóñ absolute dream water for the little F-Series 3-weight! With the march flies out in full force (mixed emotions on that one), fish were looking up for a decent feed. Tying on a size 14 Para Improved Humpy from the Manic Fly Collection was the right choice, with a dozen or so beautifully marked browns putting a very satisfying bend in the 3 weight Scott.
