Has Kevin Duncan peaked too soon?

So we have ourselves an early leader for fish of the '13/14 season with this substantial Lake Ellesmere brown caught by Kevin Duncan.

Kevin is one of the crew from Kaikoura Hunting & Fishing so he obviously know his stuff. This fish bottomed the scales of the weigh net out at an easy 14pd which leads Kevin to believe it likely could have gone 16pd. We'll take his word for weights as he was able to compare it with a 13.5pd fish he caught earlier in the night. Both fish were released to get even fatter so now you know where there are a couple of lunkers lurking although they may somewhat the wiser now.

While Kevin laments that he might need a new reel it's great to see his Scott S4 performed like a dream.
