Trophy Triumphs This Wednesday On Pure Fly NZ

The New Zealand fly fishing season of 2020 was one of the best years for big trout in living memory. A beech tree masting event in the preceding twelve months led to a massive mouse plague that the trout took full advantage of. Brown trout of exceptional sizes were regularly caught across most of the South Island turning an average season of backcountry fly fishing into a legendary event. Veteran fly fishing guides, Mike Kirkpatrick and Hans Kreuer, missioned into a famous river in North Canterbury that has been producing a lot of big brown trout. The results are truly mind-blowing, even for these seasoned anglers.

Tune in to TVNZ Duke this Wednesday at 9:30pm to catch the action.
