Team Tuesday - Introducing The Lateral Line
Nathan and Milan have decided they are going to start an online fishing platform called "The Lateral Line".
The whole concept is extremely simple. It’s just Milan and Nathan doing what they love to do, that being trying to catch big kingfish and snapper in shallow water New Zealand. For the most part you will see Milan doing the fishing and Nathan trying his very best to film it all, in a selfie kinda vloging type scenario.
Everything that you will see on "The Lateral Line" will be made entirely with Nathan's Iphone. Filming with an IPhone has been extremely challenging to say the least, “We have learnt a lot already and there are vast improvements on the horizon.” Says Nathan.
“To date all our fishing has been land based, because right now, we are boatless, I spent a huge chunk of my younger years perched on the rocks trying to catch pretty much anything, so we have both been really enjoying the challenge of getting back to land based fishing and it’s something we both want to see continued through "The Lateral Line".” Say’s Milan
Moving forward, Dayne at Marco boats here in Morrinsville is piecing together a 6 meter custom Lateral Line special, that Milan and Nathan have been wanting to build since they started fishing together. The design brief was simple and summed up by saying, “we wanted the smallest boat you can sleep 2 people on that is basically flat and has the ability to cast from anywhere onboard and providing an elevated vantage point were the main fishing criteria.
It will be powered by a 200 Suzuki with a Minn-kota located on the bow and a Humminbird sounder/chart plotter in the dash.
“We are pretty excited to see what else this boat will be able to do when running a Minn-Kota linked into the Humminbird system." says Milan.
Their plan is to release fishing content on the 15th and 30th of every month. The video’s will be anywhere between 1 to 15 minutes long. All depending on what they caught or didn’t catch the weeks prior.
They will be working closely with Maritime NZ to help promote any and all safety messages as there are still so many fellow kiwi brothers and sisters losing their lives to the sea every year here in NZ.
And of course the boys will be looking good, staying protected from the sun and dry from the bad weather in the best of Simms clothing and accessories.
