Otago Anglers Club

Otago Anglers Club

Formed in 1881,the Otago Anglers Association is the oldest angling club in New Zealand, and possibly Australiasia. The aims and objects of the club are as spelt out in the rules - "the encouragement of the art of angling, the fostering of friendship, and emulation amongst anglers by means of fishing competitions and otherwise, and the obtaining of useful information regarding the various streams in the district".

We have a club night every Wednesday night 7.30pm and on Saturdays from 5.00pm to 7.30pm. There is a fly tying night on the first Tuesday of every month during the winter and every second Tuesday during the Summer, and a guest speaker on the third Wednesday evening of each month.

The Otago Anglers Club have their own website www.otagoanglers.com which has information about events and the clubs services.
