Friday Fly Day - Salty Selections from Dave Bradley

Having just spent a few days up with Dave Bradley and his band of AFO guides, I took the opportunity to ask about fly selection for Hinchinbrook Island and the surrounding fisheries.

“Early season up here in tropical north Queensland has the AFO team, servicing reels, changing wheel bearings on skiff trailers, locking regular clients into dates and helping out new ones with travel and gear recommendations etc. Now while we do have a few tricky little flies that we tie ourselves, there is an easier way to sort out our day to day fly requirements.

Manic has worked with us and others to come up with a pretty cool fly selection to cover a huge variety of scenarios and salty locations.

Inshore our Barra Bunnies, MFC Toads and a Micah’s Gold Bomber fly for Barramundi and estuary species, top water poppers and pushers for the fun stuff in all sizes 1/0 to 6/0. Some super realistic crabs for fussy feeders and the GT Flashy Profile for GT’s hunting the flats.”

Dave's Barra Bunnies. Deadly in the mangroves

Merkin, Crabby Patties and Munchie Flats Crabs. Did someone say Permit?

MFC Toads Chartreuse and Purple. Inshore species can't resist.

Micah's Gold Bomber will have the Barra in a frenzy
