Friday Fly Day - CDC Biot Comparadun

With floodwaters receding and rivers dropping back to normal all is coming right here in the South, however, as anglers we are not out of the woods yet. Post flood trout are often finicky feeders, skitterish and choosy with very quick spit reflexes having sampled undoubtedly many bits of debris as the waters clear.

Your fly patterns, along with your presentation must be spot on and while the latter can take time, we have the solution to the former right here. New to the Manic Fly Collection is the CDC Biot Comparadun, a sexy little film fly which has it all.

Split fibre tails, a goose biot body and a dark CDC wing and hackle to stand out on those grey, glarey days, this is a technical film fly designed to deceive the most selective of feeders. Available in sizes 14, 16 and 18, and in two colours, grey or mahogany the CDC biot compara dun presents a much slimmer body than our old favourite CDC thorax dun, and a much softer prey image making this the perfect riffle, or smoothwater dry.

Remember your fly however is only part of a system, so fish it on soft, technical tippet such as the Trouthunter Evo nylon and on bright days, an application of Snake River Mud from Loon will dull down the shine of your nylon.
