The S4s New Zealand Special is the result of design input from the Scott and manic teams. The rod is built on the new award winning S4s 906/4 blank, a blank originally designed by Scott for targeting bonefish in the most testing of conditions. For us here in NZ this blank has the unique ability to work at any distance with a six weight line (you wont need to upline the rod), it can handle flies of any size and will deliver tight loops at and distance with precision accurancy. Where the NZ Special comes into it's own is when fishing at range in windy conditions and with heavy or wind resistant flies. The light tip on the NZ Special is easy to load and quickly tapers into a powerful mid and butt section that control casts at distance and make short work of big fish in fast water. The S4s blank has an unground finish so as not to compromise the performance of the rod in any way. It is designed for expert casters and technical fishermen looking for that extra edge when chasing big fish in big water in clear New Zealand conditions.

Note: If you feel you need a seven weight line to work the NZ Special then we suggest that you try the S4 907/4 which is a great rod that is better suited to seven weight lines. The S4s NZ Special has been tested and designed along side the Airflo Ridge Supple Ego and Explorer tapers in WF6F.
